Environmentally friendly statistics and product development
In addition to promoting the reduction of hazardous chemical substances, we have developed the system of environmentally friendly statistics and product
Chemical substance management
covered under RoHS to have been addressed
In order to eliminate hazardous chemical substances covered under the EU RoHS Directive (lead, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, mercury, polybrominated biphenyls (PBB) and polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE)), we have been promoting the switch to lead-free solder with hexavalent chromium-free and low-cadmium materials since 2004 (Mercury, PBB and PBDE have not been used from the beginning).
Our standard mass-produced products are now fully compliant with the RoHS Directive.
We have also abolished the use of chlorinated organic solvents in the cleaning process and have introduced environmentally friendly hydrocarbon-based cleaner.
The management of chemical substances contained in products is not something we can do alone. In order to procure materials and parts that are environmentally friendly, we have developed a Green Procurement Standard (a company-wide initiative) and ask our suppliers for their cooperation with green procurement. We are committed to procuring environmentally friendly parts and materials from suppliers who engaged in environmental management activities.
